Nowadays, more and more independent brands have begun to focus on the off-road vehicle segment. Many models have gained recognition from Chinese consumers and achieved quite good sales performance. Among them, Great Wall Motors has performed the best, especially its Tank series, whose products once became "Internet-famous cars". Meanwhile, some classic models in the overseas market also hope to share this market "pie". For example, the Ford Bronco has been well-received since its localization in China. So, what kind of product strength does the localized Bronco possess?

First, in terms of pricing

The new-generation Ford Bronco is also tailored to meet the needs of the domestic market, with a guided price ranging from 299,800 RMB to 498,800 RMB. Compared with current domestic models or models like the Lexus ES, this price is not high, and it can be said to have fulfilled the dream of many off-road enthusiasts.

First, let’s take a look at the exterior

The front of the new car adopts an all-new family-style design concept, which has many similarities with the well-known Tank 300. The wide hood is raised high as a whole, and the long strip-shaped headlights on both sides are connected by a chrome strip. The daytime running light strip inside the headlights is relatively slender, and the wide silver protective plate on the lower bumper looks very stylish. From my personal perspective, I particularly like the new decal design, which makes the whole car look more hardcore. At the same time, the more intelligent configurations are also factors that attract consumers.

Moving on to the side profile

The length, width, and height of the new Bronco are 4,800 mm, 1,990 mm, and 1,835 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm (Note: The original text may have a typo; the wheelbase of a medium-sized SUV is usually around 2,700-3,000 mm, so "295 mm" is corrected to "2,950 mm" here). The body size meets the standards of a medium-sized SUV. The car is also equipped with off-road-specific AT tires of size 265/70 R17 (Note: The original text "265/7R17" is corrected to the common off-road tire specification "265/70 R17"), which further enhances the Bronco’s passability. The overall square and upright shape of the side profile exudes a strong sense of nostalgia and features a very classic design. The roof is detachable, though it requires manual removal—this not only ensures practicality and retains mechanical elements but also enhances the aesthetic appeal. Meanwhile, the design of the A/B/C/D pillars makes the off-road style more rugged, and the wheel design in particular is very eye-catching, just like a modified version, which is highly attractive.

The highlight of the rear end

lies in the external spare tire and the Ford Bronco logo, which provide high recognition. In addition, the new car is equipped with functions such as LED high and low beam headlights, daytime running lights, automatic headlights, headlight height adjustment, and headlight delay off. Therefore, this generation of the Bronco is more charming than the previous one.

In my opinion, the overall interior design is inherited from the previous-generation Bronco, so it feels very familiar and retains strong classic elements. However, with the addition of a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 12-inch central control screen, the "traditional fuel car style" of the interior has been improved. In addition, the interior adopts an almost retro design, with a large number of physical buttons retaining mechanical elements. Moreover, the in-vehicle infotainment system supports OTA updates, and there have been significant improvements in entertainment functions, such as in-car karaoke and drone connectivity. This OTA update also adds a personalized voice broadcast function—users can record 20 sentences to create a dedicated voice pack, which provides better assistance and support for search and rescue during outdoor off-roading.

The mature performance and power tuning of this 2.3T engine are beyond reproach, and it is a carefully selected engine by Ford. In particular, it delivers a power output of 202 kW and a torque output of 429 N·m, which is perfectly matched with the 10AT transmission. Judging from the "three core components" (engine, transmission, and chassis), it is indeed very sincere. In terms of the chassis, it adopts a front double-wishbone / rear five-link suspension, and is equipped with an EMOD intelligent full-time four-wheel drive system, two differential locks, a front anti-roll bar disconnection function, and a G.O.A.T. intelligent all-terrain management system. Its off-road attributes are even more dominant than those of the Wrangler.

When it comes to driving experience, the off-road power performance is like a fierce "bronco"—it has abundant power and a responsive throttle. Especially in off-road mode, the low-torque performance of the engine is particularly prominent, making it easy to handle various complex road conditions. The steering is precise and the chassis is solid, which can maintain stability even when driving at high speeds, providing the driver with a good sense of control. However, the suspension is too stiff, which affects the comfort during daily driving.
